Whampoa Keng Fishhead Steamboat @ Rangoon Road
Whampoa Keng isn’t just well known for its steamboat and zi char dishes but also for its amusing yet illustrious history. The business started as a single hawker stall and has since become two restaurants, a collective of successful food outlets and a catering operation. The two restaurants are located along Balestier Road and Rangoon Road and they’re both managed by the founder’s first and second wife respectively.

Monkey Magic @ Peony Jade (Keppel Club)
The creative and innovative culinary team at Peony Jade has come up with a monkey-shaped yusheng to usher in the Year of the Fire Monkey. The adorable set-up will have everyone smiling from ear to ear. Be prepared to snap a ton of pictures before the yusheng goes from gorgeous to glam with the addition of luxurious choice seafood such as lobster from Canada, 2 head golden abalone from Australia, Geoduck clam, sashimi-grade tuna and sashimi-grade salmon.

Fivefold Fortune Reunion @ Spice Brasserie (PARKROYAL on Kitchener)
Photo credits : PARKROYAL on Kitchener
Celebrating Chinese New Year at a restaurant has never sounded this enticing. Apart from awesome credit card promotions, diners are entitled to a complimentary yusheng for lunch reservations and the entire Fivefold Fortune Set on the house for dinner reservations! If that's not a total bang for the buck, I'm not quite sure what is.

Jen's Kitchen On-The-Go @ Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore
A 24-hour chic and cozy space that serves up great coffee, cold pressed juices and milkshakes? Say no more, I'm sold.
The pretty milkshakes aren't too over the top and they actually taste great! The Melted Peanut Butter Milkshake ($11) had my heart at hello and their Sea Salt Caramel Latte scored high points with me!

J65 @ Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore
After a huge facelift, J65 is ready to host eager patrons and hotel guests. Why J65? You might wonder. J65 draws its name from Singapore's international dialing code and Hotel Jen Tanglin is actively integrating local touches into their premises, be it engaging local talents to perform at J65, commissioning local artists to create art pieces, or supporting local entrepreneurs. J65 is a befitting name for the convergence of all things local.

(CLOSED)Shinkei Japanese Restaurant @ Lorong 4 Toa Payoh
In the heart of Toa Payoh lies Shinkei Japanese Restaurant, an establishment that offers affordable Japanese lunch and dinner sets as well as a à la carte buffet!
The
main highlight and my absolute favourite was the Sashimi Moriawase. The
luscious platter is served on a bed of ice. Each thick slab felt and
tasted so fresh. There were different types available: tuna, yellow
tail, salmon, swordfish, snapper, octopus and squid. The yellow tail in
particular was divine. It was wonderfully sweet, chilled and fresh. I
would just keep ordering sashimi till my heart and stomach’s content.
