EN Sakaba - Hotpot Buffet with FREE FLOW A5 Miyazaki Wagyu & Zuwai Queen Crab
EN Sakaba should be quite a familiar name by now. With multiple outlets across the island, the modern izakaya has attracted throngs of people with an attractive array of Japanese dishes that include chirashi don and yakiniku don. However, do you know that the best thing that EN Sakaba has to offer is actually their hotpot buffet which comes with a free flow of A5 Champion Miyazaki Wagyu, Zuwai Queen Crab, and Iberico Pork? This buffet was previously priced at $108 but is now going at just $78/pax. It's basically an insane deal that will leave you utterly satisfied and rubbing your tummy in glee.

(CLOSED)The Playground Coffee - Best Cafe in the Far West of Singapore
The Playground Coffee took over the space formerly occupied by Pits & Pans. The cafe sits in Nanyang Community Centre and is a cozy space that serves up good coffee and decent brunch fare. You may be able to find similarities, such as the use of geometric shapes in the interior design and logo, between The Playground Coffee and The Populus Coffee & Food Co at Neil Road. This is because The Playground Coffee is set up by ex-staff of the popular Populus.

(CLOSED)Catfeine - The New Kid in Bukit Timah (The Hillford)
Bukit Timah is home to many cafes and the charming neighbourhood has no lack of F&B options. Joining the party is Catfeine, a relatively new cafe sitting at the corner of the commercial stretch of The Hillford. An abundance of natural light streams into the simply-decorated space. You will notice a snug little corner dedicated to books and feline plushies (truly living up to the CAT in Catfeine).

Coffee & Laksa Pasta @ Noshery by Nosh (Rochester Park)
Nestled within the serene but alluring Rochester Park, Noshery is the latest project by Nosh. The green and brown hues that Noshery is decked out in convey an earthy feel, which is consistent with its surroundings. The space is decorated with wooden furniture, vintage finds and warm lights. There is a constant stream of natural sunlight into the cafe but you will be able to catch some shadows if that's your photography style at certain corners.

(Closed) Gobble Cafe @ 498 Jurong West Street 41
Miss Tan, who has had a few years of experience in the food and beverage industry, has recently opened up a cozy little space in the quiet Jurong estate. The former coffeeshop owner first opened Gobble Cafe in International Plaza in 2014. She did not manage to secure a new lease and thus decided to move to a residential area and continue to cater to the increasingly health-conscious crowd. With a lack of healthy options in the area, Gobble Cafe is truly the place to go if you're seeking a taste of home, with less salt and less oil.

Legendary Cart Noodles 傳奇車仔面 @ Jurong Point 2
The origins of cart noodles date back to the 1950s in Hong Kong when it was a common sight to see street hawkers peddling bowls of noodles from their carts in the less affluent areas. At present day, the street hawker trade has dwindled but these iconic cart noodles still continue to thrive as a Hong Kong favourite.

Legendary Hong Kong @ Jurong Point
Legendary Hong Kong has been around for more than a year and its a shame that I've only just found out about it, especially when I stay near Lakeside. This huge casual joint is reminiscent of those popular cha chaan tengs in Hong Kong and that was what struck me first as I walked into the place. It might not be the easiest place to locate as all the signboards are bright and flashy and there are a ton of them but that area is dressed to look like the streets of Hong Kong and I think that does add points to the ambience of LHK. The brainchild of a Hong Kong-er, the food here is as authentic as it gets, and possibly the closest you can get to Hong Kong

Pho Street @ Westgate
Sitting in the basement of one of the most popular malls in the west, Pho Street at Westgate dishes out decent and unpretentious Vietnamese fare. Patrons can expect pretty authentic street delights prepared by Chef Kenny, who comes from Vietnam. Since its humble beginnings in 2013, Pho Street has expanded to 2 outlets and they are constantly looking to inject freshness into their menus by tailoring recipes and adding new items

The Carving Board
The Carving Board has taken the western part of our island by storm with its affordable and delectable selection. I popped by on Sunday night at 8pm and was the tenth person in the queue and little did I know that I would queue for 50 minutes just to place my order. Even though my food took about 20 minutes to arrive(which is short compared to the time I spent queuing), I was really unhappy about it. I mean, would you rather queue for 20 minutes and be able to sit down for 50 with your pals or would you rather stand and queue for 50 minutes and sit for 20? Well, I would rather the former.
That aside, I must say that the food was pretty good.
