Maltby Crumble Bar - Build Your Own Apple Crumble at Singapore's FIRST Crumble Bar!

Inspired by The Humble Crumble in London, Maltby Crumble Bar is my latest venture! It's essentially an extension of my ice cream and cookie brand, Twice Young. When I was living in London, I visited The Humble Crumble in Borough Market a few times. I loved the concept, and how you can dress up your crumble however you like — with custard, drizzles, and a variety of toppings. I starting working on this  concept when I returned from my 13.5 month vacation in Europe and the UK with my dog, Snuffles, and tested it at Baker X at Orchard Central in December 2023.

I decided to name the concept Maltby, because we were actually living near Maltby Street in London, and I loved the area! Also, my dog is a Maltese and one of our favourite countries on our trip was Malta! It just seemed very apt, and the name sounds cute too haha

I spent a few months perfecting the recipes for both the stewed apples, and French butter crumble. It's sad that we can't get Bramley apples here, so we are using Granny Smith apples. For now, we only have apple crumble, but we are thinking of creating a berry crumble and a banana one in the future. At Maltby Crumble Bar, you can jazz up your apple crumble with ice cream, custard, drizzles and a myriad of sprinkles such as chocolate crunchy pearls and wildflowers. 

Twice Young's signature ice cream flavours will be available on rotation, and our signature brown butter cookies, that we have sold tens of thousands of, will be available as well. 

Maltby Crumble Bar is currently taking residency at Pinhole Coffeebar at 27 Purvis Street, #01-02, until the end of March

Of all the limited-time menus presented thus far, this menu($98++, +$58++ for wine pairing) has to be my favourite!

When BBR by Alain Ducasse first opened its doors at Raffles Hotel Singapore back in 2019, I was beyond excited. After trying the food and drinks for the very first time there, I was obsessed. I couldn't even get a reservation after the opening night. Unfortunately, shortly after their grand opening, covid hit and the spacious and beautiful restaurant had to close. It's been more than a year since and the restaurant has recently reopened as OSTERIA BBR by Alain Ducasse, focusing on ingredients sourced from the Italian Riviera.

Raffles Courtyard Teams Up With FatFuku to Present Outstanding Modern Peranakan Dishes

If you still haven't scored a highly-coveted seat at the table of FatFuku (Annette Tan), you might find yourself dancing to the news of her signature dishes making an appearance at Raffles Courtyard's second installation of collaborations with private dining chefs. Phase 2 Heightened Alert definitely dampened all our spirits, and FatFuku's exciting collaboration with Raffles Courtyard was put on a semi-hold, as a few of her dishes were made available for delivery via Raffles Grab and Go. Tablescape Restaurant & Bar - New Modern European Creations & Dinner Degustation Menus

I still think about my last visit to Tablescape at Grand Park City Hall, where I was blown away by their outstanding Risotto, and delicious Fettuccine that was topped with an unbelievably generous sprinkling of fresh black truffles. The modern European restaurant has undergone some changes, and has a new executive chef at the helm. Hence, you can, of course, expect a refreshed a la carte menu with new creations, and also spanking new degustation menus(4 course - $88, 6 course - $108, 8 course - $128) come dinnertime.

Basque Kitchen by Aitor - A Mediocre $218++/Pax 8-Course Dinner at This One-Michelin-Starred Restaurant

One-Michelin-Starred Basque Kitchen by Aitor has been on my to-dine-at list for the longest time so when we were planning for our Christmas dinner, I suggested coming here. We made a reservation about a month in advance. Then, the a la carte and usual dinner menu were still available on the site. However, on the day of our visit on 22nd December, we were told that only the festive menu is available. We were taken aback because we were not informed of this, and did not plan on spending $218++ or $278++ pax for dinner. We had wanted to try the signature txuleta and other a la carte dishes, and were even considering the $148++/pax menu. This came as quite a rude shock to us to be honest but since we were there, and had already paid a $200 deposit, we had no choice but to continue on with dinner.

The restaurant exudes such a comforting charm that makes you feel right at home, even with its fancy get-up and tableware. I knew, from the moment I stepped in, that I was in for one of the most unforgettable meals and nights of 2020, and my life. Helmed by Three-Michelin-Starred Chef Anne Sophie Pic, the only Asian outpost of her collection of restaurants has been making waves ever since its opening at the grand Raffles Hotel Singapore. Now is the prime time to visit, as they have just brandished refreshed menus that comprise exquisite summer creations crafted with the finest seasonal produce.

The iconic Raffles Hotel Singapore is home to a diverse range of F&B establishments, but loyal fans of The Grand Dame will always be back at Raffles Courtyard, Tiffin Room, Long Bar and The Grand Lobby. Sitting in the middle of the luxurious property is Raffles Courtyard, a tranquil alfresco bar that promises good food, good drinks, and a good time. Open from 3pm, Raffles Courtyard welcomes streams of patrons who pop by for a tipple or two during happy hour which runs daily from 5pm to 8pm. I've actually always wondered why the space isn't open for weekend brunch because it would definitely be so very popular. Alas, Raffles Hotel has decided to show off the beautiful place in its daytime splendor.

Helmed by Chef Julien Royer, Odette is a 3-year-old fine-dining restaurant that has been awarded 2 Michelin stars in just its first year of operations. Inspired by Chef Julien's grandmother, Odette, Odette has debuted on Asia's 50 Best Restaurants at 9th place — the highest new entry of all time. And the Best Restaurant in Singapore has also made Singapore proud by ranking 28th in The World's 50 Best Restaurants in 2018. If you've been to Jaan, you'll know that Chef Julien is brilliant, and exceptional in his craft. Sending out contemporary French cuisine in a tastefully decorated space in National Gallery, Chef Julien works under the watchful eye of the world, and aims to deliver what one would expect from an esteemed dining destination that has 2 of the most precious and prestigious stars to its name.
