Vatos Urban Tacos @ South Beach Quarter
The Ko-Mex chain has drawn alot of attention ever since it set foot on Beach Road. The place is dimly lit and seems to be a popular after-work hangout with the executives. Opened by three Korean Americans who grew up on authentic Mexican food and traditional Korean food, you can expect a clever fusion of the best of both Mexican and Korean cuisine here.

Joo Bar @ Tan Quee Lan Street
Established in late 2014, Joo Bar sits pretty on the quieter end of Bugis but it has rocked the local bar scene with its Korean dishes and home-brewed Makgeolli. I popped by once on a Saturday night and the place was completely packed so I sat at the bar and fell in love with their passionfruit makgeolli at first taste. Their hand-cut chips were immensely delightful too and I was stoked to be back here for their dinner menu!

Insadong Korea Town
Media Invite
Located at Resorts World Sentosa, Insadong Korea Town is possibly the most authentically Korean dining establishment in Singapore. It is a huge project managed by Korean consultants, designed by Korean architects and helmed by Korean chefs. 99% of Insadong, including the floor tiles, are imported from Korea. Needless to say, I was really impressed by the dedication and effort put into the set-up of Insadong. Korean merchandise, from handcrafted souvenirs to local delicacies, are also painstakingly imported and up for sale here.

7TH AUGUST 2011, THE SUN TURNS TWENTY ONE!
Early in the afternoon at 1.30pm, The star came to pick me!
I was given 21 K dollars in an angpao because it's my twenty first!
The Star gave it to me the day before and I was told to keep it safe. And there are two Heart cards which are like jokers. I can use them to reveal the destinations and then choose where to go from there! So creative right haha
And the first thing I could buy was SLEEP which will cost me all my money hahaha and which means that it's bedtime straight away and no activities. I wanted to just buy that and ruin all of The Star's plans HAHA no lah I'm not that evil and I bet he wouldn't let me buy it anyway haha
FIRST CLUE OF THE DAY COST ME 6 K DOLLARS
And I picked the second one.
DESTINATION :
LOYSEL's TOY CAFE
They have really cute things in the cafe
The cup that was used to contain our receipt
my ham croissant.
I LOVED IT.
The ham and cheese went so well with their special mustard and the slices of apple provided an interesting edge to it all. The croissant was crispy and buttery enough and it was very fragrant. The croissant was good enough on its own. The whole combination was just awesome. I shall say it again, I loved it. Haha I've always been a fan of ham and cheese and now I'm a bigger fan of Loysel's Toy cafe's ham croissant!
Loysel's is known for their coffee and they won the best barista award. The famous coffees are usually warm. Although I love anything coffee, I don't like my coffee warm. Haha weird I know. I'm a hot chocolate person(ironically) however, and there wasn't hot chocolate on the menu and so I opted for their iced mocha.
My iced mocha which was pretty good.
The Star's iced long black
The Star's egg and bacon bruschetta
It was too plain, and there was not much taste to it.
The banana muffin which we both adored. Warm and soft, we sure were tempted to get another one
We wanted to get their lemon tart too but we didn't in the end. It looked so good.. Haha. I like Loysel's! Good place for brunch! Oh and anyway you have to get the seats yourself, kinda like a coffeeshop so do go early on a weekend if you don't wanna stand around waiting for tables!

TIME FOR MY SECOND CLUE!
Cost me another 6 dollars hahaha. I have been asking The Star to cut his hair for a really long time and the moment I saw the first option, I picked that HAHAHA. And his face changed and he was like "shit it's too obvious" Haha but being awesome, I decided to choose the second option and so we went to the IT fair to look at my potential canon G12. Which I've decided against as I've picked the Leica V Lux 30 as my new toy! <: THIRD CLUE :
Cost : 1 K dollar
He had me at this because I couldn't guess at all what it was! And he loves it when I make wrong guesses. He'll have this super smug face and I'll feel like punching him hahaha. I guessed that we were going to MBS to buy macarons and fit them into the hole where they belong : my mouth HAHAHAHA. Not bad right my guess but he brought me to Lilliputt! I've never heard of this place before but mini golf here we come!
Lilliputt is an indoor mini golf place with 18 interesting courses featuring attractions in Singapore. They have really cool courses with moving objects. A really good place for a family to have fun. And there's discount for students.
We were given a scorecard before we started!
Changi Airport
MRT
The train will carry your golf ball from the start to the end of the tunnel! Damn cool
Mount Faber
The cable car will carry your golf ball!
Zoo
The zoo! When the ball passes into the hippo's mouth, a moving gorilla will start moving and making noise in the background haha
Botanics
Sentosa
I was winning ! But lost in the end ):
I had fun! It was fun laughing and having a little competition. And there was this kid who looked really blur and was stumbling around like he was drunk and his daddy was trying very hard to teach him how to golf. Hahaha quite entertaining.
902 East Coast Parkway
The Sun's rating of Lilliputt: 7.5/10
FOURTH CLUE :
Cost : 1 K dollar
I guessed the location correctly! And The Star was very bitter that I did HAHAHA
The Garden Slug
Ths Star's pasta with shrimps and pumpkin. The sauce is unique and The Star says it's a great comfort food haha. Pretty good I'll say!
My steak with mashed potato. The mashed was home made and mashed from real potatoes and I like it. I like my mashed the real style haha. I dont get why people like the mashed potato that you pay $1 for and it comes from a dispenser or something. However, the steak was just normal. I'd recommend the pasta over this!
The view from our outdoor seats. Quiet, and peaceful. We both like the place

Fifth Clue:
I wanted to choose the second one and I decided to use my heart card on this before deciding. And I still chose the second one in the end. AND I'M SO GLAD THAT I DID.
GOBI
REALLY PRETTY
Cute decor
Creme Brulee Poire William
Never thought Creme Brulee will taste so good with pear. The crust was crunchy and the custard was soooo smooth and so good. It was love at first taste really. So so good.
Molten Lava cake
A classic and I LOVE lava cakes. Gobi's lava cake was BRILLIANT. It was so good I was speechless. It was as if I was sinking into a bottomless pit of happiness as I savoured the cake. TOO GOOD.
If you haven't heard of Gobi, or have never tried it, I URGE YOU TO. Some things in life can't be missed out on. And Gobi is CERTAINLY one of them. The Star and I loved the design of the place, how it felt homely and welcoming and we loved the dessert. In short, We loved GOBI. Disturbingly delightful indeed

LAST CLUE OF THE DAY:
I decided to use my heart card on this last clue and I chose the first option! We went back home to watch the Man Utd vs Man City charity game instead of catching horrible bosses!
When I was about to get out of the car, The Star stopped me and handed me another clue and I was like HUH?!?!?! I have no more K dollars left!!
And worst of all, it required a heart card ): HE TRICKED ME!!! He told me that I'd have better used my heart cards before the day comes to and end and that I can't keep them for future usage. ):
So we went back home and when I entered the room and wanted to switch on the light, I found this!
And The Star very kindly said "okay give you discount, don't need heart card" HAHA aww
I opened it up and it was another clue!
I took a while before I found the next clue behind a photo of us on his magnetic board on the wall haha
I TOOK DAMN LONG TO GET THIS HAHAAHA. Stupid hide it in his guitar.
I know this was sure to be the calendar on which he records everything that we do everyday < : Sweetest boy ever
And the last clue was on our blog: which was 2 posts before this.
So I opened the cupboard and found my present!!! <:
I LOVEEEEEEEEEEE IT!!!! :D
And that marks the end of my AWESOME twenty first!
The Star stayed up till really late to think of all the clues and all and I was really touched. And he practically did everything for my party too. I'm pretty damn useless hahaha. He's really very sweet right? [:
Thanks silly sloth for putting in so much effort in the planning and making of the clues and the gift and everything. ILU <:
You make me feel like I'm the luckiest girl in the world [:
