Best Restaurants, or Rather, My Favourite Restaurants in Singapore

 

Took me a long time to finally put this list here(I don't know why) but here are my favourite restaurants in Singapore, and obviously the best restaurants in Singapore to me. 

I might have forgotten some great places, but will update this post as I go along!

 

I have personally eaten at all of these places before, so I hope you'll like them too! Places that I have highlighted are places that I have revisited.

Yì by Jereme Leung - Outstanding Modern Chinese Cuisine for a Luxe Reunion Dinner 2022

Yì by Jereme Leung and Raffles Hotel Singapore have pulled out all the stops this year to bring us an exceptionally magnificent Lunar New Year. It might not be possible to book the beautiful private rooms at Yì anymore, seeing as we are already so near CNY, but I'll suggest that you try anyway. Red House Seafood - Best Pen Cai for a Prosperous & Auspicious Chinese New Year 2022!

 

Longstanding Red House Seafood is one of the oldest seafood restaurants in Singapore, and it's no surprise at all. Consistently sending out the tastiest seafood dishes crafted by old master chefs, the restaurant, which currently has 3 outlets, is always a hot spot for an amazing dinner, and intimate reunion feasts. The outlet at Grand Copthorne is the prettiest one of all, and is also a popular venue for wedding banquets. My family used to go to Red House Seafood alot when I was a kid, but as I grew up, we had fewer dinners together and haven't been back in awhile. After trying a few highlights from the Chinese New Year menu at Red House, I immediately told my family that we are heading back here for CNY!

Chef Kang's Private Kitchen - Super Hard to Book Michelin-Starred Chinese Restaurant

Chef Kang's Private Kitchen is one of the hardest-to-book Michelin-starred restaurants in Singapore. The small one-Michelin-starred outfit along Mackenzie Road has just 5 tables, and they have a whole line of loyal fans who return regularly, so it's not easy to get a seat here. I made a reservation about 6 weeks in advance, and my foodie friends were surprised that I managed to score a table! Truth be told, so was I. I was coming here with my dad and brother and was told over the phone that a minimum of 5 pax is needed for them to give us one of the dining rooms, so we were allocated a table next to the counter. That was a little disappointing but I guess, we were coming for the food more than anything else, so I agreed to it.

Restaurant Ibid - A Brave New Space by Masterchef Asia Winner Woo Wai Leong

Hai Tien Lo - Luxurious Weekday Dimsum Lunch Buffet

It's no secret that I love Pan Pacific Singapore. From Edge, which I believe has the best buffet spread in Singapore, to Pacific Marketplace, which has some of the most refined and unique entremets, to Atrium, where diners can dive into a beautiful selection of high tea delights, to the highly acclaimed Hai Tien Lo which consistently delivers delicious Cantonese fare with a modern twist, Pan Pacific is truly a food haven. Recently, Hai Tien Lo refreshed their dim sum buffet and there's so much to look forward to — a hot soup, unlimited servings of dim sum, 3 choices of Hai Tien Lo specialty dishes, 2 choices of dessert and a bowl of Chilled Homemade Bean Curd with Bird's Nest.

Beauty in the Pot - Newest and Biggest Outlet at OneKM Mall

Beauty in the Pot is possibly Singapore's favourite hotpot place. I've eaten here countless of times, and I remain addicted to their Signature Beauty Collagen Soup, and Fried Beancurd Skin. There were times that I travelled all the way from my home in the west to Centrepoint in the wee hours of the morning just because I had to satiate those intense cravings. Many would compare Beauty in the Pot to Hai Di Lao, which isn't unusual. I am a huge fan of Hai Di Lao too, having first tried it back in 2013. I love their tomato soup, and their fish slices, and I've dined there numerous times too. However, in all honesty, ever since I've tried BITP, I have only been to HDL once, because I was already at Clarke Quay. Are you a huge fan of BITP too? If so, you'll be pleased to know that they have opened their largest outlet, yet, at OneKM mall, just a level above their very first outlet in Singapore.

Li Bai - Ring in Chinese New Year With a Wonderful Cantonese Reunion Feast

Li Bai at Sheraton Towers is a household name. The Cantonese restaurant has withstood the test of time, and remains one of Singapore's best restaurants. The winner of multiple prestigious accolades, Li Bai continues to blow diners away with a plethora of beautifully-executed Cantonese dishes. Because Li Bai is often fully booked for the whole of Chinese New Year, some families and companies have chosen to celebrate the Lunar New Year way before it even starts, just to dine at their favourite Cantonese restaurant. Wan Hao, the resident Chinese restaurant at Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel is one of the top Chinese restaurants on our little red dot, and also one of Singaporeans' absolute favourite. Every year, Wan Hao is completely booked throughout all 15 days of the Lunar New Year. It shouldn't come as a surprise, though, because the famous restaurant is amazing at what they do — every dish is thought through carefully, prepared with love, and meticulously assembled.

Yàn - Toss to Greater Heights with Their 'Shun De Style' Yu Sheng!

The Year of the Dog is fast approaching and if you're looking for a beautiful restaurant to have a reunion feast with your family and friends, you definitely have to look at the 7 specially curated menus that Yàn has come up with. The menus(from $118++ to $268++ per pax), which have been tailored to cater to all sizes, comprises timeless Cantonese classics and new creations.

Don't you love buffets? Well, I certainly do. Kuvo is possibly one of the largest, if not the largest, restaurant in the heart of Orchard Road. And, they have recently launched an attractive Chinese tapas buffet that might just be right up your alley. If you're a huge fan of Chinese food, this should interest you. Diners get to indulge in 30 different dishes, carefully prepared by the wonderful chefs at Kuvo. Expect premium ingredients and tantalizing small bites with big flavours.

Canton Paradise(Marina Bay Sands) - Quality Dim Sum and Cantonese Cuisine

These Piggy Buns ($6.80/3pieces) are almost too adorable to eat! I'm sure you've seen numerous pictures of them on social media. These buns are filled with smooth molten salted egg yolk custard and are quite the delightful treat.

Canton Paradise's latest and sixth outlet at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands aims to please with a plethora of Cantonese dishes and dimsum.

Cassia - Usher in the Year of the Fire Rooster with Sumptuous Cantonese Delicacies

Welcome the Lunar New Year with an exquisite selection of meticulously-crafted dishes at Cassia, Capella's Cantonese fine-dining restaurant. The beautiful restaurant has a grand private dining room that is perfect for reunion dinners and corporate lunches. Yàn Cantonese Cuisine Celebrates the Year of the Fire Rooster

Almost every restaurant in Singapore has a Chinese New Year menu, or their very own renditions of yusheng and it might be challenging to decide on a restaurant to have reunion dinner at. My family usually sticks to the same old restaurants that we trust and love. I'm not sure about you but maybe you will like to give the one year old Yàn at National Gallery a shot this lunar new year.

Hai Tien Lo (Pan Pacific Singapore) - Hearty Reunions

The Year of the Fire Rooster is almost upon us and I'm sure many of you are looking for places to have your reunion dinner. This Chinese New Year, Pan Pacific Singapore is bringing you traditional Cantonese delicacies at Hai Tien Lo, a delightful buffet spread at Edge and a Japanese-inspired Wafu Yu Sheng at Keyaki. Executive Chef Lai Tong Ping of Hai Tien Lo has tailored eight reunion set menus, including a vegetarian menu, so you can be sure that there's something for every family, or company! Featured here is the Steamed Farm Chicken with the lauded housemade minced ginger sauce. A touch of opulence in the sprinkling of gold leaves completes the dish.
