Goodbye, Alibi - Modern Dining Concept With Strong Cocktails in Tanjong Pagar

Taking over 53A Duxton Road is Goodbye, Alibi — the newest kid in Tanjong Pagar. Poised to be a modern dining restaurant that also whips up strong and delicious cocktails, Goodbye, Alibi is ready to set the food scene ablaze with their creative takes on familiar dishes that we hold close to our hearts. Melding distinctive flavours from the East and West, the team strives to bring comforting flavours with a twist to the table. Tanjong Pagar is filled with unique restaurants, cool concepts and award-winning cocktail bars, so deciding to take root here is definitely a tricky, but bold, move.

Taking over the now defunct Goho Kaiseki space, Goodbye, Alibi retains much of the original decor, while adding touches of their own to spruce up the space. Expect to see a long bar counter where diners can see some cooking in action, a few tables meant for small groups and a mezzanine area that's perfect for bigger groups. The 55-seater is beautifully decorated and has a gorgeous colour palette — forest green and gold.

During the soft launch phase, they debuted a few delicious dishes that garnered good reviews. The la la seemed to be the most popular item. People have also raved about the anchovy soldiers (baguette with house-made anchovy butter), and also lavish praise on "Send Noods" — Goodbye, Alibi's take on comforting instant noodles/maggi mee jazzed up with a house-made broth and more. As with every new business, there are teething issues which I hope they will sort out soon.

The cocktail menu is really promising as well —with a good selection of cocktails made with a variety of spirits. Guests can expect classic flavours with a quirky spin, and cocktails made with house-made infusions and ingredients that have been fermented in-house. Unique, and interesting, certainly! There's a terracotta-aged negroni which sounds super fancy. The cocktails definitely pack a punch, and are the perfect complement to the dishes on offer. I also heard that the bartender can craft a bespoke cocktail according to guests' preferences so that's pretty cool!

Do drop by and support this new local business and let me know what you think about them!
