Copenhagen Island Hotel - Modern & Beautiful Dog-Friendly Hotel Near Copenhagen Central Station

 copenhagen_island_hotel_best_hotel

Located just one train stop away from Kobenhavn H(Copenhagen Central Station), Copenhagen Island Hotel is a modern and stylish dog-friendly hotel with 326 rooms. The stunning 4-star hotel sees high occupancy all year round, and it's no surprise at all, considering how well-located and pretty the property is. The hotel sits right next to Fisketorvet Copenhagen Mall so you don’t have to worry about not being to procure any essentials, or about having to wander too far for a light snack or good meal. There’s even a movie theatre should you be up for a late night show!

Copenhagen Island Hotel has rooms in five different categories, and most of them offer a floor-to-ceiling-view of the Port of Copenhagen. There's a common theme of maritime decorations in the rooms so you might notice that the headboard resembles a white sail, the bedside tables look like metallic ship’s masts, and the minibar is made of grain-patterned Brazilian rosewood(often used in luxurious yachts).

I stayed in the very spacious and bright Executive Double room(21 sqm with a double bed of 160 cm or 2 beds of 80 cm), which had a private balcony opening up to a lovely view of the harbour. Room amenities include bathrobes, slippers, and skincare products by the Danish luxury brand Karmameju.

I’ll highly recommend that you get a room with a waterfront view, as I did, so you can sip a cup of hot tea while enjoying the view and soft breeze. The tranquility will definitely put a smile on your face. It was so so peaceful, that it was actually refreshing and rejuvenating.

I liked that they gave Snuffles a little welcome treat!

Somehow, Snuffles knew that the bed must be really comfortable so he was asking to be carried up soon after we settled in.

Restaurant : The Harbour

The hotel has a great restaurant with a fully stocked bar that allows diners to admire the spectacular water view through the large glass windows. Needless to say, having breakfast here means you will be dining in a room with natural light streaming in. Talk about breakfast with a view!

You’ll be 100% spoilt for choice when it comes to the breakfast selection— there’s just too much to eat! From cheeses and cold cuts, to eggs and pancakes, there’s definitely something for everybody. I was most intrigued by the drinks dispenser which employs a touchscreen technology. I scored a corner table and thoroughly enjoyed the view, and my breakfast.

Copenhagen Island Hotel boasts a state-of-the-art fitness centre on the sixth floor. Guests can keep fit, all while being pampered with a brilliant view. The fitness centre is equipped with weights and good training apparatus. There's also a sauna for those looking to refresh themselves after a long flight or journey here.

Business Centrecopenhagen_island_hotel_business_centre

On the first floor above the lobby area is a Business Centre with 6 computers available 24/7. The business centre is perfect for those who did not bring along their laptops, or require printing of boarding passes and  tickets etc.

If you don't already know, bicycling around is a way of life in Copenhagen so bicycles are naturally available for hire at the hotel. There are a number of  exercise routes around the harbour waterfront and in the local neighbourhood should you like to go for a nice stroll or quick joy. Small motorboats can be hired from Copenhagen Boat Rent on the quayside, so you can explore the harbour and canals from the water too!

There are 3 public swimming baths in Copenhagen’s harbour, with one right outside the Copenhagen Island hotel. These public swimming facilities are all manned by qualified lifeguards throughout the summer months, so get ready to take a nice dip in pristine waters while being welcomed by pretty sights.
