Glamping and Glampcations have been all the rage for awhile now. But have you been on a glamping picnic on the rooftop of a hotel before? Grand Park City Hall is offering an exclusive glamping picnic experience on their rooftop which is not usually open to even hotel guests. Typically a spot for solemnization parties and private events, the spacious rooftop, which boasts a nice view of the city, is now home to two comfortable tents that offer lots of privacy. Whether you're here for a romantic proposal with the sunset as a backdrop, a cozy get-together with your fave pals, or even an exciting hen's night under the stars, you won't be disappointed.
Play your favourite songs and chill in the tent that is equipped with an aircon, fan, speaker and charging ports, and feast to your hearts’ content on Tablescape's specially curated picnic menu ($88/pax with free flow canned drinks, or 2 glasses of red or white wine/Prosecco). As you relax in your tent, expect a server to arrive with an adorable picnic basket packed full of food and cutlery. I felt like royalty, as I watched the server carefully unload the contents of the basket onto the table. The whole experience felt very tailored, luxe, and "personal".
The picnic basket comprises 8 items :
- Tablescape-style Mini Beef Burger
- Chilli Crab Mousse with Rice Crackers
- Lobster Blinis with Avruga Caviar
- Foie Gras Terrine on Pan Brioche
- Cheese, Crackers, Grapes, Mixed Dried Fruits and Nuts
- Mini Mozzarella, and Cherry Tomatoes
- Plant-based Tacos
- Artisanal Bread served with a Selection of Homemade Butter
The bites were great and I especially enjoyed the velvety smooth foie gras terrine on crisp brioche which was complemented perfectly by a Williams pear compote, balsamic vinaigrette and pistachio. I really loved the delightfully tasty burgers as well, and the addictive chilli crab mousse. And of course, you can't go wrong with Tablescape's freshly baked bread and house-churned butter!
You can order from Tablescape's a la carte menu too (minimum spend per tent - $350) should you require more food, or prefer to have main courses instead of a picnic-style dining experience. The tent fits 5 more than comfortably, but feel free to come out of the tent and marvel at the sunset (530pm - 730pm seating), dance under the moonlight(8pm - 10pm seating), or even just to stretch your legs on the large couch anytime.
I thoroughly enjoyed the glamping picnic experience and would highly recommend it ! The glampcation packages which include a stay in their suite and breakfast for 2 are very attractive too, so if you’re planning for your anniversary or a long awaited date night, look no further!
