Morton's Steakhouse Singapore - An All New Sunday Lunch Menu
My favourite steakhouse has spiced up their Sunday Lunch Menu with tantalising new additions that will charm your socks off. Apart from the droolworthy selection of Morton's specialties and prime steaks, Morton's has kept their value-for-money three-course lunch set which goes for $98++.
Exciting new dishes include Short Rib Tacos and Beef Tenderloin Sandwiches. Morton's also pays homage to the all-time favourite BLT, with their rendition of Crab Cake BLT. Morton's might be known for their steak, but they are quite the master when it comes to seafood too. I tried their Honey-Balsamic Glazed Salmon Fillet before, and was utterly mesmerized.
Kick off lunch with a delightful glass of wine, and Morton's famous onion bread. The fragrant and fluffy onion bread usually comes in a really huge portion that can feed 4 pax more than comfortably. This adorable mini version can be requested for private events. Slather the smooth and creamy butter on, and savour every bite!
Choosing a soup or salad as your starter should be easy. However, it certainly isn't the case at Morton's. For me, it's easier as I don't eat vegetables so the Morton's Salad, Caesar Salad, and Chopped Spinach Salad are naturally out of my consideration. BUT how do I choose between the Lobster Bisque and Baked Five Onion Soup?
Looking for dishes that are perfect for sharing? The Parmesan and Truffle Fries and Steamed Fresh Jumbo Asparagus are great options!
Let me show you some of the spanking new creations :
Morton's Prime Burger
Grilled Jumbo Shrimp & Sea Scallops
Grilled Chicken Breast Sandwich
The Signature Cut Prime New York Strip is not new but we had it because it's not right to come to Morton's and not have steak, yeah? My favourite cut of beef is ribeye and I always get that. I've to say that the New York strip was quite an eye-opener. It's leaner, for sure, but the meat was still tender, juicy, and boasted a lovely bite. Those who think that the ribeye is too fatty will definitely love this cut.
After stuffing myself silly, as I always do at Morton's, I rubbed my tummy in glee and eagerly waited for dessert to arrive. The Creme Brulee Cheesecake was creamy, but not overwhelming, and I loved that thin layer of caramelized sugar on top. The rich Chocolate Mousse was quite thick and definitely not for those who prefer fruity or lighter flavours when it comes to dessert. It's not a refreshing treat, but instead an indulgent one that chocoholics will revel in.
It was an honour meeting Panagiotis Kalamidas, the regional executive chef, and Christian Schreiber, the executive chef, who shared with us more about the new dishes on the Sunday lunch menu.
Morton's has been, and will always be, my favourite steakhouse in Singapore. And I believe that Morton's is the favourite steakhouse of many Singaporeans too. The fact that the well-loved restaurant welcomes many returning and loyal diners even after decades is a true testament to the popularity of Morton's and what it has to offer. I always tell my friends how much I love the steaks here, and how much value they will be getting when they visit Morton's. If you haven't visited, what are you waiting for?
