Hotel Fort Canning - Lovely Boutique Hotel Near Plaza Singapura
Hotel Fort Canning's location is truly unique. The stunning conservation hotel is really near Orchard Road, but it is also tucked away from all the hustle and bustle, amidst lush greenery, at the same time. Guests can access Fort Canning Park anytime they wish, or walk to the nearest shopping mall for some retail therapy.
The colonial glamour of the hotel is especially alluring.
I guess, pictures can really be quite deceiving. The room is actually really small. There also aren't enough power points for us to charge our electronic devices.
Hotel Fort Canning is pretty high tech, I have to say. While there's a folder that contains a copy of their in-room dining menu, and all the information that guests might possibly need, all the information is available on the smart tv as well. Notable amenities include a handy phone which guests can bring out, a nespresso machine, complimentary wifi, electronic safe, and customized pillow menu. The lights, air-conditioner, and blinds can all be control using a single sleek control pad that sits on the bedside table.
The bathroom is pretty, and spacious. I adore the marble tiles! The sliding door can be activated with just a quick press. However, the door doesn't stay open so if you're running a hot bath, and taking a long soak in the bathtub, the bathroom gets really stuffy and warm.
The bathtub is possibly the biggest that I've come across thus far. Do remember to draw the blinds before you take a shower as passersby can look into the bathroom. Also, it's nice to wake up to a lovely park view.
They don't have bathrobes in the room so we called housekeeping to ask for them, but it took a second call, after 45 minutes, for us to finally receive the robes which resemble a very thin printed yukata that you wear to an onsen. We were surprised as we were looking forward to thick white bath robes.
This is the control pad which is pretty impressive. The boutique hotel, which is very eco-friendly, encourages guests to use less water and electricity.
Guests can indulge in wines and canapes at the Tisettanta Lounge from 6pm to 7pm. Hotel Fort Canning's central location makes ordering food from delivery companies a breeze. More than 400 restaurants deliver here! Talk about being spoilt for choice!

Rise and shine and head to The Salon for breakfast which runs from 730am - 1030am.
A selection of pastries, salads, fruits, yogurt, cereal, cheeses, and local delights such as porridge and nasi lemak, awaits. There's an egg live station where you can get your omelette and scrambled eggs too. In addition, a special menu featuring Eggs Benedict, American Pancakes, English Muffin, and Roti Prata is available. The nasi lemak, eggs ben (especially the muffin) and the scrambled eggs were pretty decent. The breakfast spread was not shabby at all.
The 3 pools are filled with mineral water treated by a system from NASA, so treat yourself to some time in the sun and go for a dip! Bring your sports attire along if you'll like to go to the gym, or book yourself a spa session for some well-deserved pampering.
Service was really great — check-in was quick and fuss-free, we were walked to our room by the staff who checked us in, our ice bucket arrived promptly etc. Check out is usually at 12, but we asked for late check out and we got a one-hour extension.
All in all, I enjoyed the tranquility of the property, and the spacious bathroom. However, I felt that the bedroom was too small. It's probably great for a weekend staycation with your significant other, but not somewhere you wanna hold a small party.
