Don Play Play - Best Halal Japanese Food Delivery in Singapore

photo IMG_7799.jpg
Started by three friends who each has a background in the F&B industry, Don Play Play is set to be the next big delivery player in town. A cheeky play on the famous phrase “don’t play play”, Don Play Play is quintessentially “Singlish”, and Singaporean. The team hopes that the catchy name, which was thought up by Miss Tam Chiak, Singapore's favourite food blogger, will capture the attention of the masses, and also reflect that Don Play Play is a proud homegrown brand. As the name suggests, Don Play Play focuses on whipping up the yummiest dons or rice bowls.

Don Play Play strives to keep prices as affordable as possible, and offers free islandwide delivery for orders above $150. Orders for weekday lunch and weekend dinner can be placed on https://donplayplay.com/collections/delivery. For orders outside their delivery schedule, simply drop them an email at whaddup@donplayplay.com. Delivery locations include Jurong Island and Sentosa.

The signature Truffle Beef Yakiniku Don ($15) comes with a gorgeous 63-degree onsen egg and slices of striploin on a bed of warm Japanese rice. Australian grain-fed beef is first cooked using the sous vide method for 8 hours, before it is grilled and sliced. The housemade sauce carries a strong truffle scent, and the beef is tender, and delicious!

The Unagi Don($15) features a beautifully glazed eel and onsen egg atop garlic Japanese fried rice. The savoury garlic fried rice will definitely win your heart, and the perfect onsen egg is just the icing on the cake!

The Salmon Sashimi Don($15), my favourite, is topped generously with fresh salmon sashimi. I can eat this everyday!

The Chicken Grain Bowl($14.10) is a hearty bowl of brown rice, sous vide chicken breast, sautéed mushrooms, purple slaw, butter corn, edamame and cherry tomatoes. This bowl of goodness is extremely filling.

Countless hours of hard work, and research and development have gone into the conceptualization of the dishes and the trio hopes that consumers will love the food as much as they do. There is no pork and no lard in any of the dishes, and all the ingredients used are halal. If you're looking for the best halal Japanese food in Singapore, you won't go wrong with DPP. They also have mini buffets that are perfect for parties, and corporate functions.
