Poolside Patio - Fire Up with Barbecue Nights at Pan Pacific Singapore
If you don't already know, Pan Pacific Singapore is one of my favourite, if not favourite hotel in Singapore. The five-star property has the best buffet restaurant, Edge, a cozy Atrium where high tea sets and cocktails can be enjoyed, a marketplace where you can get your hands on freshly made pastries and goodies, and the amazing Hai Tien Lo which dishes out phenomenal Chinese cuisine. I've been to the hotel many times but it still surprises me - everything is so consistently good here. And now, Poolside Patio, an al fresco dining venue adjacent to the refurbishes swimming pool and Poolside Bar, is set to blow diners away with a sizzling four-course barbecue menu on Friday and Saturday nights.
After being greeted with a refreshing welcome drink, we had some fragrant grilled flat bread that's sprinkled generously with parmesan. The bread is fluffy, soft, chewy, and had a captivating aroma.
Grilled green asparagus with burrata, lemon dressing, and black rice chips
Tomato gazpacho with tomato bread and Iberico ham.
Mushroom cappuccino - I always love the mushroom soup at Pan Pacific!
They really have a fair bit of vegetable options, which I did not eat hahaha
Alaskan king crab with garlic butter
Needless to say, we were all looking forward to the grilled meats. How does unlimited servings of tender and juicy meats sound? I did not look at the menu, so I wasn't sure what to expect but I certainly wasn't expecting such a gorgeous ensemble. This platter was definitely a treat for the eyes!
Grilled grass-fed Australian tandoori lamb cutlet
Ayam bakar with homemade spicy sambal
Lamb Merguez sausage with sauerkraut
Chicken nuremberg sausage with sauerkraut
Soy and mustard Harami steak
Coriander and lemon marinated red snapper fillet
Tiger prawns with garlic butter and parsley
Grilled meats aren't the easiest to perfect. They can get really tough, dry, or have much hard, charred bits. One look at the meats here and you should know that they were grilled expertly. I took a bite of the tandoori lamb cutlet and was surprised by how tasty and tender it was. It didn't have that distinct lamb taste that I dislike. To be honest, every piece of meat was delicious, even the sausages. Pan Pacific's sausages have always been pretty incredible, if you have never tried. My favourite meat had gotta be the impeccable and incredibly succulent Harami steak. Sprinkle a little smoked sea salt, slather a little honey dijon, or smooth some Sichuan pepper sauce on the meat to accentuate the natural flavours of the beef. The firm, crunchy, and sweet Tiger prawns were the absolute best. Paired flawlessly with a dollop of garlic butter, each prawn was palatable and beyond addictive. Despite being stuffed, I had to go for seconds!
Round off the hearty feast with the fruity Tropical Tiramisu built with various fruits and a creamy scoop of coconut icecream. I wish they had other dessert options though!
For $78, we think that the meal was well worth every dime. We believe that you will find the steak and prawns unforgettable too! Fancy some wines or beer to complement the barbecue menu? Simply top up $20 for unlimited house wines and beers.
