The Kiroro, Hokkaido(A Tribute Portfolio Hotel) - The Epitome of Luxury
Situated in the heart of Kiroro Resort, known for its superb powder skiiing, The Kiroro, Hokkaido is part of Tribute Portfolio, a collection of independent hotels under Marriott International. The Kiroro is located in the village of Akaigawa, Hokkaido, and plays host to a crazy number of guests every year, especially in winter. In December 2016, The Kiroro, Hokkaido unveiled a fresh new look to provide winter enthusiasts a high-end boutique experience to retreat back to after an exciting day out on the snowy slopes.
The Kiroro, Hokkaido is about a 90-minute drive from New Chitose Airport, and a 40-minute drive from Otaru. The pretty hotel sits right in the heart of the Kiroro mountain resort area which has 21 well-groomed trails suitable for all levels, snow park, a ski academy and snow cat tours.
The Kiroro, Hokkaido's renovation design focused on natural materials, and hues and patterns that are native to Hokkaido. Drawing inspiration from the outside natural environment, guests will notice a brown and white palette inspired by the alpine and geometric designs, contemporary pieces, and artwork that complement the open and airy layouts of guest rooms and public spaces. Guests will definitely feel at home, and in utmost comfort in the rustic new lobby. The hotel is always at full occupancy during the winter season but it is a perfect getaway for those who's looking for a rejuvenating holiday during other seasons too.
The Kiroro, Hokkaido features a noteworthy selection of #independent moments, distinct moments found at each Tribute Portfolio hotel. The #independentmoments include Ainu Artwork, an on-site traditional onsen, a soothing stone sauna, and more.
282 guestrooms and suites await the adventurous spirit in you. Every room is extremely spacious and equipped with a separate bath and toilet. The room is dressed in a striking minimalist design and is nothing short of comfortable and cozy. The beds have got to be one of the best that we have ever dived into. So fluffy, and incredibly snug! You can be assured of a good night's sleep every evening.

Immerse yourself in a long hot bath before bedtime for an even more gratifying rest.
The Kiroro, Hokkaido has eight different restaurants to cater to any appetite. There's POP (all-day buffet), Hokki (Robata grill), Riverouge (world buffet), Fuga(Edomae-style sushi), Shunsai (steakhouse), Alla Moda (Italian), Alpine Brasserie(European) and Yanshu(charcoal barbecue).
We had dinner at Fuga, and were treated to a delicious assortment of sushi. Diners can browse the menu and place their orders on an ipad.
One of the most popular fish in Hokkaido is the Kichiji, also known as Kinki. I asked for it the moment I got to the restaurant and I was so happy that the restaurant had it! A definite must-try! I
l'll recommend going for the omakase!
We were treated to a preview of the upcoming Kiroro Afternoon Tea (Summer Edition) at Alpine Brasserie after dinner. The tea set sees high quality ingredients, such as Belgium Chocolate, meld flawlessly with fresh fruits and ingredients sourced locally from Hokkaido. Diners can expect unique flavours.
The housemade desserts did not disappoint. From scones, to macarons, to cinnamon roll, to sorbet, every item dazzled our tastebuds. Even the orange cream cake, that didn't sound too fascinating to me, blew me away.
A chapel sits near the entrance of the hotel and it is a very popular venue for wedding ceremonies. We only managed a peek of the exterior but we can imagine that it is extremely gorgeous.
The Kiroro, Hokkaido is an all-encompassing hotel that promises more than an exceptional stay. Service is wonderful, the rooms are impeccable, different cuisines await, and there is a mart as well. You will undoubtedly find your stay at The Kiroro, Hokkaido particularly wonderful and memorable.
