Cook & Brew @ The Westin Singapore

I've heard so many good things about Cook & Brew on level 33 of The Westin! The romantic restaurant is known for an abundance of natural light streaming in in the day, great views of the Marina Bay area, brilliant interpretations of classic dishes, a wide selection of fine wines and more than a hundred different beers.

Poutine "Eh" - $16
I love fries and basically, just any form of potato so when I saw Poutine on the menu, it was an instant "we have to get this". Poutine is a Canadian dish that originated from Quebec and features fries paired with cheese curds and brown gravy. Cook & Brew's rendition is an extremely delicious one that saw well-fried fries mingling with cheese curds, pulled pork and a captivating Magner's cider gravy. I couldn't get enough of it and I'm pretty sure that you wouldn't be able to either!

Hawker Burger - $32
All burgers carry a patty made of USDA beef and are served with house-brined pickles and fries. Let's start with the fries first. I have to say that Cook & Brew is an expert when it comes to fries. I was busy stuffing my mouth with the crisp and addictive fries that I was so full before I could even embark on the burger. The Hawker Burger is a clever creation tapping on local flavours and Chinese heritage by bringing together char siew-style pork jowl, crispy pork belly and sambal mayonnaise. It's a never seen before combination and no doubt an interesting one, but I felt that the patty was too dry.

Potato Salad & Cold Poached Nova Scotia Lobster - $64
Sweet, succulent, and perfect in every possible way. Don't forget to add on a kiss of lemon to bring out the natural flavours of the ocean fresh catch and the whole lobster might just seize your heart from the very first bite, like it did mine.

Coffee & Whiskey Icecream - $6
The icecream here is all spun in house and the most popular flavour appears to be Rum & Raisin. Coffee and whisky are two of my favourite things and I was so excited to have a taste of their union in the form of a refreshing and creamy dessert. I'm pleased to announce that the icecream was really good!

Molten Sticky Toffee Pudding - $14
A waiting time of 20 minutes? I will wait 40 minutes, even, for this! Just look at that lovely height! Beautifully crisp on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, the pudding was an awfully well-engineered treat. That scoop of house-spun vanilla icecream was just the icing on the cake. You can't leave Cook & Brew without having this!
