Here are 21 cafes in the far west of Singapore that you probably have never heard of. And we mean the extreme west, like Pioneer to Dover so cafes in Holland Village and Bukit Timah are not covered in this listicle. The independent cafes featured are not part of any chains and are not located in shopping malls. If you're planning a cafe-hopping trip to the west side, our little list might be of help!

3) Beans & Cream
A humble icecream and waffles spot that dishes out housemade icecream and waffles at very affordable prices. We paid $6.50 for this sweet lil treat and I have to say that it was money well spent. I will recommend the Thai Milk Tea icecream.

6) Time Table Cafe
The fragrant waffle ($6.80) was dense, chewy and had a light crisp. The range of icecream available is outsourced and I'll suggest that you skip them but the waffles are definitely worth a try. Prices are very wallet-friendly and they have quite an extensive menu. I'll love to give their pasta dishes a go someday.

7) Pang Zi Durian
Listen up, durian lovers(especially those residing in the west)! Here's a cafe that's dedicated to durian pastries and good quality durian. They have gelato as well!

is made using Uji matcha powder. The cafe uses a Synesso Hydra to brew

Having been around for a few years now, My Little Ice Cream Shop is set up by the folks behind Pandan Gardens Fishball Noodles. You can have their fishball noodles and then walk over to My Little Ice Cream Shop for some dessert.

12) Lynn's Cakes
While
the cafe is not halal-certified, the cakes are made with halal
ingredients. Popular options include the tall and stunning rainbow
cake($8.50), Cookie Butter Cheesecake($8.50) and Carrot Cake($7.50). We
did not try the coffee but it should be pretty good seeing that a
Synesso is in play.

13) Glass Roasters
Glass Roasters might be a tad difficult to get to, but it certainly hasn't daunted streams of visitors. They're neighbours with Gelatolabo so it makes the journey here more "worth it" as you will be able to visit 2 cafes at one go. Talk about killing two birds with one stone!

17) Olla Specialty Coffee
The baristas at Olla seemed really serious about their coffee! Unfortuntately, the coffee wasn't as robust as we had hoped. Other items on the menu includes toasts and waffles.

18) Burnt Cones
Sunset Way is getting more happening! Here's the latest addition to the once quiet neighbourhood. Burnt Cones opens really early so if you're someone who loves to start your day with a scoop of icecream, at like 7am, here's the place for you. I guess more people will be coming by for their morning cuppa instead, but you know, the possibility of having gelato at 7am does sound exciting, doesn't it?
We tried the waffle which took a really long time to arrive. It was quite dense, not crisp, and also quite bland. It was a tad disappointing, but here's hoping that they iron out the kinks!

20) Hundred Acre Creamery
Sunset Way has been hit by an influx of new icecream shops, but hey, no one's complaining right? Hundred Acre churns out really interesting flavours such as Thai Milk Tea Lychee, and they have a really cute theme(Winnie the Pooh)!

21) W39 Bistro & Bakery
W39 is undeniably one of the most popular cafes in the West. They offer hearty brunch fare at reasonable prices and the place is always packed on weekends. It is a nice cozy spot decked in cheery colours and dogs are welcomed in the alfresco area.

Okay, I have reached the end of my list and I wouldn't, in a million years, tell you that these are 20 cafes in the west that you MUST visit but there are still gems worth checking out of course!
