(Closed) Gobble Cafe @ 498 Jurong West Street 41
Miss Tan, who has had a few years of experience in the food and beverage industry, has recently opened up a cozy little space in the quiet Jurong estate. The former coffeeshop owner first opened Gobble Cafe in International Plaza in 2014. She did not manage to secure a new lease and thus decided to move to a residential area and continue to cater to the increasingly health-conscious crowd. With a lack of healthy options in the area, Gobble Cafe is truly the place to go if you're seeking a taste of home, with less salt and less oil.
Set meals that include a bowl of nutritious soup, housemade drink, brown rice or ramen option run from just $4.80 - $6.80. The Crispy Fish Brown Rice Set ($5.80) is highly recommended and it is really value-for-money!
Braised Pork Ramen Set - $4.80
The braised pork is painstakingly braised for 12 hours and if you're craving a taste of home or comfort food, you won't be disappointed.
Spicy Chicken Ramen Set - $4.80
Baked Chicken Set (with fruit tea) - $6.80
If you're trying to cut down on carbs, you may want to go for the baked chicken that comes complete with a large portion of fresh greens and a refreshing glass of fruit tea. Don't be fooled by the seemingly dry outlook, the chicken is in fact, very tender and juicy.
Baked Chicken Burger (with Japanese Mayo/Japanese Goma Sauce) - $6.80
The chicken burger is pretty filling and satisfying. Sandwiched between toasted sesame buns are tomatoes, romaine lettuce, a slice of cheese and a big piece of baked chicken. You can opt for either Japanese mayonnaise or the sesame sauce to go along. While both options are popular, I prefer the sesame sauce. For just $6.80, isn't this a total bang for the buck?
Miss Tan takes pride in her enzyme-drinks which are made from fermented fruits. The fruits are preserved for six to nine months before they are mixed with honey and water. The drinks have a sweet and sour taste, and tons of health benefits. I tried the mixed fruits enzyme drink which was truly unique and it strangely opens up your appetite.
On weekends, Gobble opens earlier and you can find breakfast items here too.
