Hevina's Kitchen @ Jalan Seri Impian 1 (Johor Bahru)

Hevina's Kitchen is the brainchild of three high school classmates, Herwen, Vilbert and Nagean. The name Hevina's Kitchen stems from parts of their names all combined together. The spanking new restaurant dishes out authentic Southern Indian Food and takes extra pride in their Fish Curry.

The three best friends have a particular restaurant that they frequent for lunch and they have decided to adopt the same ordering system which, apparently, is very common in JB. Basically, you scoop whatever and however much you want onto your plate, return to your table and a server will come along and bill you on the spot.

To be very frank, this is my first time having Southern Indian cuisine. I'm not really a huge fan of Indian cuisine because they're mostly spicy and there's alot of vegetables. However, I have to say that I have been missing out on some pretty good stuff, after trying the Fish Curry, Fried Fish and Fried Cauliflower here. Yes, fried cauliflower. It was so yummy, I might just have found a way to make myself eat my veggies. A plate with Fried Fish, Fish Curry and a couple of other dishes will amount up to about RM13 which is really, really affordable! It's a pity that they're across the causeway or I will definitely be a regular customer! I'll most certainly make a trip here again when I pop by JB next!

They're still in the soft launch phase so they are focusing on lunch for now but do stay tuned for their upcoming breakfast and dinner menus where hot favourites like pratas will be available!
