An Ode to Classic Flavours Afternoon Tea @ Pan Pacific Singapore
Pan Pacific Singapore pays tribute to English and Peranakan traditions with the launch of classic tea treats that have survived the test of time and which still remain as popular today as they were generations ago.
English Afternoon Tea
The elegant tea set comprises both sweet and savory little treats that are bound to delight your tastebuds. Tuck into savory colourful mini burgers featuring unique pairings such as Turmeric Bun with Smoked Turkey and Beetroot Bun with Crabmeat & Avocado. The sweet range includes buttery Scones with Fresh Clotted Cream, petite Lemon Meringue Tarts, homemade Lollipops and more. I'm pretty sure that the Coconut Cheesecake will seize your heart like it did mine. Right down to the crust and buns, everything is made in-house.
Peranakan Afternoon Tea
Isn't this set-up just beautiful? Every tier has a different selection of traditional favourites such as Kueh Pie Tee, Ondeh Ondeh, Apam Balik, Penang Popiah and Rainbow Kueh. Those gem biscuits are set to bring back memories and all the flavours present in this afternoon tea set are reminiscent of our childhood days. The Traditional Nyonya Chicken Curry was a huge hit with everyone and it was an absolute stunner with that rich broth and wonderfully tender chicken. Undoubtedly, my favourite item of the day!
It's not easy deciding which tea set to go for. I'll always go for classic English tea sets because I just love scones and tarts but I must say that the Peranakan Tea Set here is a strong contender. Wouldn't be surprised if the Peranakan Tea Set emerges as the more popular tea set!
The tea sets go at $38/pax with coffee or tea and $68/pax with a glass of Laurent Perrier Rose Champagne. The tea sets do not require two to dine so if you're looking to have some quality me-time, a pleasant afternoon tea at the iconic Pan Pacific might be right up your alley.
