Dessert Project sits in a quiet neighbourhood and their thick toast has been tauted as one of the best in Singapore. I've never had thick toast prior to this and I was so glad that my first time was an exceptional one.
Nutella Toast + 2 Scoops of Icecream - $14.90 + $7.20
The toast was extremely buttery, very crisp on the outside and pillowy on the inside. Drizzled generously with homemade nutella sauce and chopped nuts, and topped with artisanal Ferrero Rocher and Vanilla icecream, the thick toast was seriously on point. We really enjoyed it. I loved how fragrant it was and how it remained crisp even after a long while. We completely underestimated how filling the thick toast would be and our additional scoops of icecream proved to be too much. The icecream here is all made in house and they have really interesting flavours such as Parma Ham with Melon and White Truffle.
I returned for the thick toast again in less than two weeks. We requested for a special version in which our thick toast is topped with our choice of icecream and not one of their fixed combinations. The kind folks at Dessert Project acceded to our request and here we have an equally delicious thick toast topped with White Truffle and Salted Egg Yolk icecream.
Other items on the menu include waffles and lava cakes. Great desserts, warm and friendly service, what's not to love? Will be back again for sure!
