Spending New Year's Eve in Singapore is always special for me. It reminds me of how lucky I am to be a Singaporean. I can party till the wee hours of the morning and still get home safe. Taxis are readily available and they're absolutely safe to take. Buses and trains have extended working hours so that more Singaporeans can stay out a little later to celebrate. We have countdown parties everywhere, we get to view beautiful fireworks at lots of places or on live television and we get to squeeze in huge crowds and count down together as one people with more than sufficient security around. I'm beyond thankful for how safe and prosperous my country is. And each year, I thanked the heavens for all the blessings showered upon this little red dot. I'm incredibly proud and thankful to be a Singaporean. I hope 2016 brings all of us bigger and better things! Happy new year!
