Refreshing The Classics @ PAUL

 photo P7146567.jpg
Where else but a French establishment to celebrate Bastille Day at! Had the good fortune of soaking up the celebratory atmosphere at PAUL at Marina Bay Link Mall with a couple of their newly launched dishes

The night started with a bread-making demonstration where they roped in a few participants. I never knew making bread is this tedious and energy-consuming!

Bread and butter, two of my favourite things. Can you guess who ate the most bread that night? Haha

Salade tofu froid - $18.90
The working executives can now indulge in healthy salad options at PAUL. This is the cold tofu salad which consists of mixed salad, cold tofu, fresh mangoes, tomatoes vine, avocados, red radishes, button mushrooms, mango vinaigrette and roasted sesame dressing.

Salade boeuf grille - $19.90
The grilled beef salad comes with gherkins, carrots, tomato vine, cherry tomatoes, red onions and cucumbers and I don't have much to say about it since I only ingested a piece of beef but one thing for sure, the salad could definitely use more slices of beef

Cabillaud royal de méditerranée - $29.90
The fish was a tad too tough for my liking. It didn't have that melt-in-your-mouth softness that I adore. And the whole get-up was a little too herby for me

Roulade de poulet - $23.90
This was the highlight for me. That tender stuffed chicken was coated with a delectable mustard sauce and sits atop a bed of pumpkin puree. Executed beautifully, the dish comes complete with a side of salad and roasted potatoes. There you have it, a combination of protein, carbs and greens. Healthy, and very delicious!

We also tried the petit versions of their signature tarts and it was very unfortunate that the tart crusts were all soft and a tad soggy. The petit versions are available for catering purposes but the full-sized ones are available in store daily. A couple of their new dishes could do with some improvements but I really enjoyed the Chicken Roulade. Exciting times are ahead for PAUL as an eighth outlet is slated to open in September. Do share with me your favourite dishes at PAUL!
