NikuNoHi, Nigiro Cafe & Maguro-Donya Miura-Misaka-Kou @ Eat At Seven(Suntec City)
Another three of the seven dining concepts at Eat At Seven have been officially launched. Joining Enbu, is a restaurant that specialises in sashimi and Maguro, a Uakiniku restaurant and a cafe serving Italian-Japanese fare.
1) Maguro-Donya Miura-Misaki-Kou Sushi & Dining
$50k Blue Fin Tuna that was air-flown into Singapore just 24 hours before
Notice the hole on its head? Shinkei-jime, a Japanese tradition of inserting a spike into its hind brain to damage the spinal cord tricks the fish into believing that it is still alive, hence, preserving the freshness of the fish. The Hon Maguro is then kept at -60 degree celcius and air-flown to all parts of the world
Maguro-Donya Miura-Misaka-Kou Sushi & Dining is one of the most renowned Maguro and sashimi wholesalers in Japan. With their own fleet of fishing trawlers, they actually get the freshest fish before they are even available at the famous Tsukiji Fish Market.
Three cuts of Hon Maguro Sashimi - $38
Akami, Chutoro and Otoro respectively, from the darkest to the lightest. Needless to say, this platter was a heavenly one that comprises of melt-in-your-mouth goodness. I was really surprised by its price point. I had expected it to be quite alot more expensive. This might just be the place that you can get the most affordable and freshest Maguro in Singapore!
Grilled Maguro Kama - $34
Everyone knows that the cheeks are the softest parts of a fish and this here, is grilled maguro cheek. With a touch of lemon to enhance its flavours, the well-grilled maguro had a bright taste of freshness and its slow disintegration on your tongue will be one that you deem worthy of the $34.
Three kinds of Maguro Sushi - $28
The Maguro was awesome but the sushi rice which is directly imported from Hokkaido and polished in-house left an impression too. Warm premium sushi rice with a great bite and texture + fresh and fatty otoro = party in my mouth!
Hon Maguro Megumi Trio Lunch Set - $49 (Usual price : $79)
From now till October 2015, enjoy this lunch set at a hefty $30 discount! Savour three parts (akami, chutoro and kama) of the Hon Maguro prepared differently at a price that you can't find anywhere else!
2) Nigiro Cafe
Grilled Prawn Nigiro Caesar Salad - $9.50 / $20
Helmed by Chef Kensuke Sakai, who is the youngest challenger to compete on Iron Chef, Nigiro Cafe has won numerous awards and their Caesar Salad is apparently the best in Tokyo.
Nigiro Hamburg Steak - $24
Homemade Hamburg steak served with their house sauce. I was told that its very popular and a hot favourite but I thought it was pretty mediocre
Short Pasta Melazane - $29
Cooked with three types of cheese and eggplant, this was my favourite item at Nigiro. The pasta was nicely cooked, balanced with a light tangy tomato sauce and wasn't too cheesy.
3) NikuNoHi
With a popular flagship store in Tokyo that requires an average waiting time of 30minutes, NikuNoHi has opened its first and overseas branch right here at Eat At Seven. They have a wonderful selection of premium Yakiniku meats that are made even more delicious with a secret marinade. The restaurant also boasts a range of roast beef and tapas made by an Italian cuisine chef.
We had the Assorted Kimchee ($10), Premium Rare Plate ($48) and Japanese Wagyu Sirloin ($42.50). The prices are pretty steep but the meats are really so so good. Super juicy, crazy tender and absolutely divine. They have a 50% promotion going on right now for the Premium Rare Plate so do drop by for it!
