(CLOSED)Bangkok's Famed Grilled Street Food @ Nara Thai
Nara Thai is constantly introducing new items to their menu to keep things fresh. They have just launched 15 new dishes that are inspired by Bangkok's famed grilled street food. Now you know where to go to feed your BKK cravings!
Made from butterfly pea, the An Chan drink was nothing like what you would expect. It was sweet and refreshing. And it contains anti-aging and anti-cancer components, and a powerful antioxidant. You know how healthy food don't usually taste too good but this is healthy and undoubtedly one of the yummiest drinks I've ever tried!
Spicy Papaya Salad with Salted Egg - $12.90
A tad pricey in my opinion but this is one savory salad with a myriad of flavours. And the winning addition of salted egg is definitely very much welcomed.
Kao An Chan - $2
Healthy rice made from butterfly pea again. Isn't the shade of blue pretty? All natural and no artificial ingredients added!
Cha Om Omelette - $12.90
The omelette was crisp and filled with a generous amount of cha om. Cha om belongs to the legume family and is a type of Acacia plant. It has a somewhat pungent smell but it is surprisingly palatable when ingested. Spice it up with a dip of the accompanying chilli and this makes a fantastic start to the meal!
Crispy Fried Chicken with Garlic - $10.90
I'm not big on garlic and I was convinced that this dish was gonna be overwhelmingly garlicky with the amount of garlic lying around. However, the aroma was bright but not too in-your-face and together with the lightly crisp and tender chicken pieces, this was a fragrant symphony that emerged as my favourite dish of the night. Awfully fragrant and dangerously addictive. A must-try, in my humble opinion!
Barbecued Pork Neck with Tamarind Dip - $13.90
The pork neck is not as fatty or as soft as the pork belly but its still quite a taste to behold. It is firmer, a little crunchier and definitely ideal for those who find the pork belly too fatty. I love fatty meats so this wasn't that great for me but it was still good!
Assorted Grilled Seafood Platter - $88.90
Boasting a whole sea bass, mussels, whole squid, tiger prawns and scallops, the Grilled Seafood Platter definitely stole the limelight with its fresh ingredients that are sourced directly from wet markets in the wee hours of the morning. I especially adored the grilled sea bass, even though I hardly eat fish, because it was so tender and so fresh!
Do share with me what your favourite dishes at Nara Thai are! I'll love to try them!
