Cream & Custard
I was super excited about the opening of Cream & Custard. I was checking their instagram page everyday! I love love love cakes and I just couldn't wait to see what C&C has to offer. I popped by on their opening day after work for some sweet treats that I managed to reserve earlier in the day
Cream & Custard is located just a five-minute walk from Tiong Bahru MRT or a 30-second one from the nearest bus stop
The decor is simple but nice. Yez, that's my friend covering her face HAHA
Those wooden utensils are seriously too cute! Bet people are gonna steal them like how they steal Mean Bean's utensils
Passionfruit Meringue Tart- $5.60
Lazing in a crisp tart crust that had quite a noteworthy texture is a perfect passionfruit curd with a nicely whipped and torched meringue sitting on top. There aren't many places that do a mean passionfruit tart in Singapore and this is definitely one of the best that I've had
Earl Grey Dark Chocolate Tart- $5.80
The dark chocolate was rich and smooth but it was a little too thick for my liking. I'll recommend this to be shared! The taste of earl grey was a little too subtle and overshadowed by its stronger chocolate counterpart. This could use a little tweaking and I've no doubt that it's gonna be one of the hot favourites here
Sticky Date Pudding Bundt Cake - $5.80
This is the first time that I'm having sticky date pudding in a cake form and I like it! The cake was really soft and its really yummy when eaten warm. One thing though, is that the toffee sauce is drizzled over the entire cake before it is cut up. So, when the cake is cut up and served, the sides are largely void of the toffee sauce so it could get a little dry. More toffee sauce, and this could be a strong contender for one of the best sticky date puddings in Singapore!
Will definitely be back! I saw a picture of their Chocolate Caramel Tart and I gasped hahaha omg NEED.
