(CLOSED) The Audacious Cakery
The Audacious Cakery has been the talk of the town since its opening. With an attractive and appealing array of pretty cakes, we can understand why this cake shop has been drawing so much attention!
Chocolate Souffle Tart - $6.80
The chocolate souffle tart has a somewhat marshmallow-y texture that I adored. The very rich chocolate might impress on your first bite but you might come to realise that its too thick and rich
Lemon Meringue Tart - $5.80
The lemon meringue tart was the highlight of this visit and it was my favourite of the lot. The flowy curd was tangy and sweet and very well-balanced. Also, I really like the tart base! One of the better lemon meringue tarts out there for sure!
Faith - $6.80
I didn't try this but my friend loved it! She said that it's one of the best green tea cakes she's ever had
Monet - $9.80
Highly raved as one of the cakes to try before one dies, I was initially upset to see that this wasn't available in the display case. Upon enquiry, I was told that the cake was still available and I was too excited for my own good because I was really disappointed later on. The taste of champagne was light and the whole cake was quite bland until I hit the berry centre where the taste of the cake is played up. This cake was quite honestly, largely forgettable.
The cakes are really pretty and I wish they tasted as good as they look. Has anyone tried their macarons and cupcakes? Do let me know what you think of them! Will probably give them a shot if I come back here for the lemon meringue tart.
Oh anyway, I had a cup of latte ($5.50) which was a waste of my money. It really doesn't do justice to the beans which are from Papa Palheta.
Lastly, the young man that served us our cakes was all smiles and really attentive and it's been awhile since I've met such genuine and pleasant service staff!
