Lola's Cafe

Located conveniently near the entrance of Simon Road and just a few minutes walk from Kovan Mrt, Lola's Cafe has an eye-catching signboard that you'll not miss!

A mixture of vintage, and bright colours, Lola's is quite a charming cafe that serves up food from the heart

I've been wanting to try the brunch at Lola's for awhile now but unfortunately, I only managed to get there at 5.10pm on a Sunday evening and brunch time has long ended. From 3pm-6pm, only desserts, drinks and snacks are available so we decided to order some stuff to share before dinner at 6pm!

Mocha - $5
You can taste the chocolate and coffee quite distinctly and even though it's on the bitter side, the velvety finish might capture your heart

Rich Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Tart with Kahlua Coffee Cream - $5
The chocolate sea salt tart was not bad but it surely didn't shine as much as the other two tarts. And it's actually quite small for its price tag

Lemon Meringue Tart - $4
Topped with creamy meringue and encased in a hard crust is a sturdy and optimally sweet lemon curd. I especially like the lemon curd which doesn't come on as too sharp or sour

Iced Latte - $5.50
I didn't like my latte as it was too thin and it lacked the robustness of coffee

Honey and Paprika Crispy Wings - $9
Four wings for $9 is definitely on the steep side but we couldn't get over how crispy and tasty the wings were! I found myself scraping up all the honey on the plate with a drumlet haha

Caramelized Banana Earl Grey Tart with Pistachio Topping - $4
The earl grey cream was light and smooth and it went really well with the sweet banana and fragrant pistachios. I would have preferred a thinner crust but this tart is like a sweet melody with all the different flavours dancing on your palate!

Summer Swimmer Crab Spaghetti - $15
A tomato cream-based spaghetti infused with lemon, basil and chilli. This was, in all honesty, too spicy for me and I was struggling to finish it haha. I adored the strong flavours and sweetness of the crab meat but this dish would have been better if the spaghetti was more aldente!

Bacon and Mushroom Spaghetti in Truffle Cream Sauce - $14
The truffle cream sauce was really savory but not overly rich and it's one you won't get sick of!

Relaxing and cozy with attentive staff, our meal at Lola's left quite an impression. However, we noted that our drinks took incredibly long to arrive even though there weren't many diners in the cafe. Would definitely return to try their brunch sometime!
