W39 Bistro & Bakery
Good news have finally arrived for the westsiders. For a long time, the only places in the west where we could get a decent brunch and a good cup of coffee are Bukit Timah and Holland Village. And one of the common complaints were that there's nothing to eat in the west. W39 has brought hope to the western part of our sunny island!
Parking is available right outside the bistro
Located near NUS, West Coast area, and Clementi, X and I weren't surprised to find the cafe fully occupied when we got there at 230pm on a Sunday afternoon.
So old skool!
Iced Latte - $5.50
I liked my coffee! Smooth and sweet without the addition of any sugar syrup!
Seared Tuna - $12.50
A must-have when you're visiting W39! Delicious pieces of lightly seared tuna served on a bed of wasabi mayonnaise, topped with avocado salsa and accompanied with soy glaze. Brilliant, brilliant combination of flavours. I don't take wasabi as I can't take how it's so spicy and choking but I've to say that even though the wasabi mayonnaise can get a little choking at times, this dish is a winner!
Hearty Breakfast - $13.50
Indeed a big hearty breakfast with eggs, mushroom, bacon, sausage, tomato and toast. Everything you want, everything you need.
Eggs Benedict - $9
The favourite of the crowd! Runny egg yolks with creamy hollandaise on a crispy thick toast with a side of salad. What's not to love? And have you checked out its price tag? Omg? Yes, we know.
We were too full for desserts and skipped the pretty cakes. Do let us know what you think of the cakes so that we know what to have when we head there again!
W39 is a homely and cozy space with yummy fare at really pocket-friendly prices. Not forgetting efficient and attentive staff! The alfresco area does get pretty hot though. Do make a reservation so that you get a seat indoors!
Tuesday- Friday : 11am-10pm
Saturday - Sunday : 9am - 1030pm

ReplyDeleteHello! They welcome dogs in their alfresco area I think! I saw diners with their furkids the last time I was there!
