Jacques Genin(Paris) - Extraordinary Desserts
Our afternoon tea at Jacques Genin was amazing. X first brought me here and got me truffles and I was blown away by the design of the place. And a few days later, we returned for tea after receiving recommendations from a fellow food blogger!
X got me really excited by telling me that we were going to somewhere where chocolates are displayed like jewellery!
Doesn't the place look and feel classy!
There were only six tables and they were all occupied. And there was a long line of patrons waiting. We waited for about 45 minutes. While waiting, we were given pralines to try!
Once we were seated, we were served these honey and pepper pralines that were on the house !
Tang Mu Hong Tea (Longan)- 7€
Hot Chocolate - 7€
The semi-sweet chocolate was rich and thick with a velvety finish. The serving was pretty huge so I'd recommend this to be shared
Caramels (6 pieces) - 7€
Take your pick from the available flavours but the mango and passionfruit one is a must-have! So good that I bought 11 to bring home!
Chocolate Mille-Feuille - 8.50€
The famous vanilla mille-feuille wasn't available so we got the chocolate one! We tasted a little piece of heaven when the thin crispy layers broke into flakes and became one with the smooth chocolate cream
Truffles - 120€ / kg
Our 100g of the famous truffles which we savoured really really slowly. Having every bite fall apart and melting ever so slowly in our mouths is just pure joy. Who said happiness can't be bought!
An immaculate dining experience that we will never forget! The staff were well-dressed and attentive and even the washroom feels posh!
If you're a chocolate-lover, which I'm sure a great many of you are, this is a must-visit when you're in Paris!
