Lim Seng Lee Duck Rice Eating House has been flooded with customers ever since news of their closing in June hit the entire nation. Lim Seng Lee was one of the first to serve boneless duck in Singapore and they have been around for 45 years so, as expected, their impending closure has saddened many and, especially, their loyal customers.
X and I were invited to an OpenRice food-tasting session here on a Saturday morning. It was already super crowded when we got there at about 11.15am. X and I have been to Lim Seng Lee a couple of times and like many others, we wanted to dine here after hearing that they were gonna close. We drove here one weekday evening to find it closed at 630pm even though they were supposed to close at 830pm(business must have been too good!) So this invitation was like God-sent haha
We wasted no time and ordered swiftly after the rest of the bloggers arrived.
Whole duck - $40
I love duck meat and this was definitely one of the yummiest braised duck around! Drizzled with a light and savoury sauce, these skillfully-chopped duck pieces are tender, fragrant and impossible not to love.
Steamed tofu
I really like the tofu too! Simple, smooth and very tasty!
This is probably the last time that X and I will get to taste the food at Lim Seng Lee. We're sure that they will be missed and remembered for a long time. It's really such a waste that they're closing.
Do catch them before they're gone!
