Group Therapy Coffee

What are lovely Saturdays perfect for?

Quick, make a guess!

Of course Saturdays are perfect for brunch. Actually, any day is perfect for brunch haha.

The Star and I headed to Group Therapy this time round, with two other friends. Well, it's Group Therapy so we should go as a group right haha

It was no mean feat finding the place, which is located at the food paradise, Duxton. We found a parking lot easily and proceeded excitedly to GT.

GT was kinda divided into 2 different seating areas.

This is like a living room in an apartment, with comfy sofas. So cozy and nice [:

We sat in this area, with all the tables and chairs
I think the clock is really cute

Menu for 22nd October. I'd think they change their menus everyday?
This is especially exciting as you won't know what is available. I like the surprise element [:

Photobucket
The Star picked this!

Poached eggs with thick toast and smoked salmon with hollandaise sauce drizzled over. -$15

I felt that the hollandaise sauce was particularly delicious and the poached eggs were made to perfection. Nothing beats the sight of runny egg yolk spilling out! And The Star loves poached eggs and he was happy with his eggs and smoked salmon! He also agreed that the hollandaise was one of the better ones we've tasted [:

This was really yummy but The Star felt that the portion was a little too small.

Photobucket
Mine : Grilled smoked ham, mushrooms and mozzarella cheese panini -$14

I thought it was pretty average as there wasn't much fragrance to the panini and the combination of the amount of cheese, ham and mushrooms was not sufficient to make it savory enough. Maybe a little more ham will do the trick? Also, we weren't sure what those tiny bits and colourful thingys were hahaha and we were pretty hesitant to try them. We finally did but they tasted a little strange to us.

Photobucket
Our guest food taster S chose the Chicken ham and egg pie. -$11
She felt that it was alright but a little overpriced

Photobucket
Guest food-taster J chose the Oven baked penne with beef and mushroom gravy -$16.
When it first arrived, we were all commenting about how small it was.
She felt that it's pretty okay but overpriced for its portion.

Photobucket
The Star loves to explore toilets.. Haha and so he came back telling me that I've to go and check it out

Photobucket
We adore the ancient look haha pretty cute, no?

Photobucket

Photobucket
Look at those adorable little wooden bathroom sink, toilet and bathtub!

We absolutely adored the design of the toilet and the sink. Food was not bad and the service staff were quite friendly [: Oh, we also had a iced cappuccino and a mango-passion fruit smoothie which were oh-so-good! I didn't manage to take photos of them because I was too engrossed in playing Kartrider HAHAHA. We were playing Kartrider while waiting for our food haha such kids.

Group Therapy is an excellent place to have some "group therapy" with your friends! Good place for hanging out/catching up.

Would love to return on a Sunday to try their special brunch menu! Haven't had yummy pancakes in awhile and I've been hearing good things about their pancakes and brunch menu. See you again soon GT!

Coccogelo

Call me a glutton if you want but I insisted on going to Coccogelo after Pave hahaha. Well, its one of the rare times that The Star and I head to the east so we had to grab the chance don't we! Haha.

They have interesting flavours and I wasn't sure which one I wanted even after trying a few of them.

The grape yakult tasted just like yakult haha.

Photobucket
I picked the banana timtam and coffee in the end!

Photobucket

Pretty good gelato and pretty good place to catch up with your friends! Interesting flavours too. I thought the timtam and banana was quite an unique mix which was surprisingly delightful! I love anything coffee so the coffee gelato was good with me. The staff were friendly and nice! Oh and the prices are really affordable too [: The Star didn't eat much because he was too full HAHA. Yes I know I'm a glutton..

Do visit Coccogelo for interesting, unique and yummy gelato!

Pave Chocolates & Confections

The Star and I planned to check Temptations out and we were really excited. However when we got there, we were utterly disappointed at their display of cakes and such that we left immediately. We headed to Pave Chocolates which was just a few steps away.

Upon stepping into the shop, we were greeted by contrasting yet yummy colours

We liked their adorable furniture

Photobucket
It was a Sunday afternoon, and most of their cakes were sold out. Pretty sad that we couldn't choose from their entire selection and were down to only 3 choices. Well, these were the two we picked! (because the last option had berries in it haha)

Photobucket
We love any place that has two-storeys

This was my tiramisu. Honestly, I didn't like it. The sponge portion was too dry and wasn't soft enough and I could barely taste the coffee. I only finished half of it.

Photobucket
This is their signature cake and apparently, very popular. So of course, we had to try it. The Star felt that it was only average but I was pretty disappointed. The cake was hardly appealing and not the kind that you'll want to have more after the first bite.

Overall, the cakes were a real disappointment but we adored the design of the shop. Pretty good place to catch up with friends. They were also shorthanded and service was a little slow but the lady was really friendly and nice and that was probably the best thing about our visit to Pave. Doubt I'll ever go back for more.

Galbiati

Serendipity is behind some of the world's greatest inventions and discoveries. It was how we found Galbiati. Located in the western part of Singapore at a place known as Rail Mall, Galbiati serves authentic and quality italian food good enough for even take-aways. However as the Sun and i had our lunch already that day we went in for their desserts.

Different types of italian bread. The breads smells good and looks good, seriously had my tummy going.

Photobucket
Galbiati has quite a comprehensive wine menu as well.

Sad to say on a weekend i was expecting more crowd at the place but it was rather empty. But that is not a true reflection of their standards. Though not the best i've tasted, i still like their cakes. And judging from the food that was served on the tables next to us, i must say they look pretty delicious. Wouldn't mind coming here to try their main course since its near my place. And i feel the prices are generally reasonable as well.

I forgot to mention that their specialty cakes are the hazelnut chocolate and TIRAMISU which is apparently a must-try! I'll be back.

Grand Salads Bistro

Let us introduce to you a place that offers good brunch and a temporary escape from the fast-paced city life. Too good to be true? Certainly not! Tucked away in a quiet corner isolated from the main roads and crowds, here we have ourselves a precious gem : Grand Salads Bistro.

The Star and I went to Grand Salads Bistro for brunch one Sunday afternoon. They have just released their brunch menu and we sure were excited to check it out! It was no trouble finding Grand Salads which is located at Solaris building. We found a parking lot easily by the roadside. Yay, free parking haha. While walking to Grand Salads, we couldn't help but feel that this is such a great location and an ideal one for weekend brunch. As you guys know that we don't fancy crowds, this was certainly the place for us.

Grand Salads started out as a salad bar in Suntec and expanded to AXA Tower. And now, here they are, at Solaris! Their salads with their unique and homemade dressing have earned them many fans and supporters who requested for a dinner and brunch menu and their requests have been answered! Aren't yall glad!! Haha I sure am! When I first heard of Grand Salads, I never thought I'd be going there because I don't eat vegetables but once I heard that they have a new weekend brunch menu, I was really excited! And we are really glad we went there because we really love the place. So modern and so pretty. Furthermore, the food served is delicious and healthy! There's nothing fried at all. Even their bread is multi-grain! It's full house everyday at lunch time! That's how fantastic they are!

And Michelle is really nice and friendly and she's such a great person to talk to! We really enjoyed our conversation with her! We'll like to thank Michelle for the lovely brunch and taking time to tell us more about Grand Salads!

Healthy, delicious and affordable food at a lovely place. What more can you ask for on a Sunday afternoon?
